State Building Codes
- The current edition of the codes, took effect on August 1, 2008. The Fire Prevention Code is a three volume set. Volume I is known as the “Fire Code”, Volume II is known as the “Building Code”, and Volume III is known as the “Residential Code”. The Codes are based on the Fire, Building, and Residential Codes, with some Arkansas changes.
To bid and work on construction projects in Arkansas that cost $20,000 or more, you must obtain a contractor's license. The state may change amount.
